General FAQ's

Q. What is RSC?
The new Nextbase Road Safety Club aims to bring together the thousands of drivers across the UK to help make the roads safer by sharing images and footage of road dangers. The club provides benefits to its users (money saving discounts and free extended warranty) as well as allowing its users to be part of a team of people helping to improve road safety across the UK

Q. Why should I join RSC? What’s in it for me?
The YOU can be part of a team to make roads safer and potentially save lives! If there are dangerous junctions, wrong directions or large potholes you can report these quickly and make a difference. Even better, you can get some discounts at the same time!

Q. Why the need for the RSC?
We have already learnt from the success and impact of the National Dash Cam Police Portal, which has seen 70% of submissions lead to further action from the police for examples of dangerous driving. The Road Safety Club is essential in going that step further in helping to make the roads safer by reporting dangerous junctions, potholes and more

Q. How can I report an issue on RSC?
In the Nexbase app (MyNextbase Connect) simply click on the Road Safety Club and make a report. You can also report automatically as you drive by simply driving past a known issue location.

Q. Who is RSC for?
The Nextbase Road Safety Club is for anyone who owns a connected Nextbase Dash Cam. Initially this includes the following models - 322GW, 422GW, 522GW or 622GW.
Road issues will be automatically shared as you drive.

Q. What separates this from other online clubs / forums?
Primarily the main difference with the Nextbase Road Safety Club is the footage/images. If an issue can be seen and located easily then it is a lot simpler for a highways agency to resolve quickly.

Q. How much will RSC cost me?
Nothing, the Nextbase RSC is absolutely free and comes with a bunch of benefits to save you money.

Q. How do you use my data? And what do you do with it?
IFirstly we want to only capture road data, so we will make sure everything is anonymous. We want to share locations of road dangers with our partners to make improvements faster. These include Highways agencies, mapping companies and local councils.

Q. Will you use this to monitor my driving?
No, never. All footage shared is redacted (anonymised to remove number plates and any faces). No audio or cabin footage is shared and the videos are deleted after use. See our Privacy Policy here.

Q. Can RSC help me fix my local roads?
Absolutely - the data taken from the local area where you drive is used to improved road safety, create better maps and, to improve the highway environment.
